Support of the DataLab WestSax project
The project
“The ”DataLab WestSax” project is a mobile, hybrid real-world laboratory for digital transformation. “DataLab WestSax” is designed to help leverage the previously untapped potential of data for value creation purposes. Prof. Heiko Gebauer’s team from the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy (IMW) and Prof. Christoph Laroque’s team at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau will receive a total of 1.5 million euros in financial support. Private and public companies in the West Saxony region are to take advantage of the many opportunities offered by data-driven technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). New value creation potential is to be identified through data processing and analysis. During the project, companies in western Saxony will have the opportunity to gain diverse and extensive knowledge about data-based value creation. Experts from the real-world laboratory will help them to integrate the experience gained into their business practice” (Source: Media information 129 / 2021, Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development, December 28, 2021).
